Sedgwick County Zoo is one of the best zoos in the USA and one of nicest places to go in Kansas with the family for a fun day out. Sedgwick boasts hundreds of animals and dozens of exhibit areas such as the North America exhibit which showcases North American wildlife like bears, bison and otters.
There is also an Africa, Australia, South America and Asia exhibits, as well as a penguin and jungle area where you can enjoy jungle treks, boat rides, and bird watching. There is also a beautiful children’s farm where young and old can get up-close to pet the animals. Sedgwick Zoo is truly huge and you can easily spend 4-5 hours there seeing all the animal exhibits and enjoying a picnic on the grassy areas.
Brown vs. Board of Education Site, Topeka
Brown vs. Board of Education is probably one of the top historic sites to visit in Kansas, and one of the best places to go in the state of Kansas to learn about Brown’s segregation case, and other people who fought against segregation in schools in Topeka and throughout America during the period of the Civil Rights movement.
The museum boasts lots of original documents you can read and also original films from the time so, you can easily a few hours there. If you’re a history buff interested in American history, the Brown vs. Board of Education Site should be one of your must see tourist attractions in Kansas State.
