The following list of tourist destinations highlights the places I feel every tourist should consider when planning trips to Latin America:
Puerto Rico (PR)
Puerto Rico may be one of the smallest countries in Latin America, but this little island is full of activity and exciting things to do. Surf camps, stunning beaches, historic sites, pristine islands and luscious wildlife areas are some of the things PR is known for.
You’ll really be spoiled for things to do when traveling to Puerto Rico on vacation but a few things you cannot miss doing in Puerto Rico are:
1) Take a zip-line eco tour in Utuado
2) Tour Rincon on horseback
3) Snorkel in Isla de Vieques
4) Spend 2 days in San Juan visiting El Morro, Castillo de San Cristobal and exploring Old San Juan.
5) See the most stunning beach in PR - Flamenco Beach
6) Experience a night tour of “The Bio Bay”
7) Enjoy a hiking adventure in El Yunque Forest
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The city of Buenos Aires is no doubt, one of the best tourist destinations in Latin America and it isn't hard to see why. Buenos Aires (BA) boasts good weather, great nightlife, stylish neighborhoods and plenty of cultural attractions that include museums, theaters, and historic sites. A few must see’s and do’s in BA that I recommend include:

7) Visit the Bellas Artes and MALBA museums
Mexico City, Mexico
Mexico is easily one of the most popular destinations in Latin America to go for an all-inclusive vacation. places such as Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are two of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico, though if you ask me, you won’t find a better place to go in Mexico than Mexico City!
Regardless of what anyone may say Mexico City is a tourist’s dream destination. The vibe and atmosphere is second to none and the city boasts some of the best tourist attractions in Latin America. among others, they include:
1) Zocalo Square
2) Metropolitan Cathedral
3) Palacio de Bellas Artes
4) Museum of Anthropology
5) Templo Mayor
6) The famous Teotihuacan Pyramids
Dominican Republic (DOM REP)
The Dominican Republic is easily the most visited place in the Caribbean and it's another fantastic destination in Latin America for an all-inclusive and/ or wedding vacation. Punta Cana is definitely the place to go in Dominican Republic if you’re looking for a touristy beach destination, place to tie the knot or honeymoon.
Being such a touristy destination, the island of Dominican Republic offers plenty of opportunities for tourists such as tours and fun activities. Besides surfing, golfing and enjoying spa treatments a few other things I suggest including on your itinerary of Dominican Republic include:
1) Enjoy a zip-line adventure in Santa Barbara
2) Book a horseback excursion in Puerto Plata
3) Hop on a catamaran trip from Bayahibe
4) Spend the day quad-biking in Las Terrenas
5) Scuba diving in Sosusa
6) Visit the famous Damajagua waterfalls in Puerto Plata
7) Snorkel in Bavaro and Macao beaches
8) Take the “Teleferico” cable car to the top of Mount Isabel
9) Swim with dolphins in Ocean World Adventure Park
Roatan, Honduras
When it comes to tourist spots where you can relax by the ocean, the island of Roatan is without a doubt, one of the best tourist destinations in Latin America for this! Roatan is simply an amazing place to recharge your batteries without burning a hole in your pocket.
Roatan boasts beautiful tropical beaches and offers some of the best diving and snorkeling opportunities in the world, though Roatan isn’t just about fun underwater. Roatan offers lots of opportunities for adventure activities such as ATV, windsports, jungle zip-line tours, kayaking, fishing excursions and catamaran cruises to nearby Hog and Utila islands.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Brazil is, for me, synonym of carnival and Rio de Janeiro is certainly the best place to be in the country to enjoy the amazing Carnival celebration. There’s no other city in South America quite like Rio...the people, the atmosphere and the beaches are just second to none.
Sure enough, visiting Copacabana and Ipanema are two of the most popular things to do in Rio, though visiting the beaches in Rio is just the tip of the iceberg! While in Rio you won't want to miss doing the following:
1) Climb the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado for views over Rio
2) Attend an opera show at the Teatro Municipal
3) Visit Banco do Brasil cultural center
