Monticello estate is located on a 5,000 acre plantation that also features a vineyard and grape yard as well as a visitor center that displays Thomas Jefferson memorabilia.

You can take tours of the house and tour the estate grounds. Guided tours of Monticello Estate are offered throughout the year and admission prices are between $6 - $14.

Ash Lawn-Highland Estate

Ash Lawn-Highland was the home of former President James Monroe. Ash Lawn-Highland was at the time a beautiful 535 acre working farm which today it’s open to the public for daily tours.

Ash Lawn-Highland range of educational workshops and tours give the public an insight into the life of James Monroe in the late 18th century.

Daily tours and workshop prices range between $9 and $15.

Montpelier Estate

Montpelier Estate was home to the former President James Madison and 'first lady' Dolley Madison.

Montpelier Estate is located on a 2,650 acre plot, home to beautiful grounds, walking trails, cemeteries, and Forest.

The Montpelier Estate features a visitor center where you can arrange a tour of this beautiful estate and learn more about the home and life of the man also referred to as the ‘Father of Constitution’.

U.Va ‘Academical Village’ and the Rotunda

The U.Va ‘Academical Village’ was the vision of Thomas Jefferson and it was built as a place where scholars and students could interact with each other in the pursuit of increasing knowledge.

Thomas Jefferson philosophy was that 'learning was an integral part of life and shared process'.

The Rotunda was designed by Thomas Jefferson and it is the focal point of the ‘Academical village’, which includes the Rotunda at the north end; the Pavilions, which house faculty; and the student rooms along the Lawn.

You can take guided tours of the Rotunda and Lawn and they are available year-round, except during the three-week holiday break in December/January.
